Evan Engell

 

 

 

Evan started Northshore in the summer of 2000.  Prior to this, he held financial controllership and other senior level executive positions in the private sector.

 

Evan has lived as far south as Okeechobee, Florida and as far north as Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.  As an internal auditor, and later in the 80's as an acquisitions specialist for Laidlaw Transportation, Evan travelled across Canada and the US extensively for five years.  He was a part owner and CFO of a magazine in Los Angeles until it was sold in 2007. He also gained extensive hand-on experience owning a major retail gifting franchise.

 

Evan is always taking seminars, webinars, conferences, and courses to continue improving his knowledge base.  Keeping up with the changes in technology and taxation is one of his primary functions.  

 

Evan is a past Director of the Long Point Country Chamber of Commerce, Bird Studies Canada, and the Long Point World Biosphere Reserve Foundation.  He has also been the Chamber Liaison to the South Coast Business Coalition.

Life outside the office has Evan mountain biking, playing shuffleboard and pickleball.

 

 

 

 

 

Ann Engell

 

 

 

Joining Evan, personally and professionally in 2001, Ann has become the "Jill of all Trades".  Learning quickly has been the asset needed as Northshore grew from the two of them in a home office (with three kids and two dogs!) to their own building and a staff of up to six at times.  This incredible growth has been managed to ensure that all the clients needs are being met.

 

Ann is familiar with bookkeeping processess and government compliance and she is the first stop for most client questions. As the Manager of Client Services, she is directly responsible for client's needs.  She ensures everyone is notified of upcoming deadlines, important information, government compliance and enquiries. As the Master Scheduler and Inventory Manager - it is her processes, procedures and software that keeps the clients and staff on schedule to complete files in a timely manner and to meet those deadlines.

 

Ann is a past President of Norfolk Association for Community Living, spearheading and leading the organization through an Operational Review and restructure.  Her goal in the four years at the helm was to re-establish the fundraising arm of the organization, and was successful at implementing the Annual Can You Dig It Game Show night.  She has volunteered her time with Special Olympics and Big Brothers & Sisters, both in Ontario and in British Columbia.

 


Cody Engell


 

 

Cody joined the Northshore team in 2013 after spending a year in Banff, Alberta.  He grew tired of being an Ambassador on the famous Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course, longed for home and for playing with numbers that had nothing to do with a handicap.

 

Cody brings skills from a variety of college programs to our business development menu.  He specializes all aspects of bookkeeping and taxation for small businessess. As the Manager of Compliance and Taxation, his ability to see the end product guides his everyday decisions regarding the execution of a file.  

 

He has earned the "Distinguised Financial Advisor - Taxation Designation" through the Knowledge Bureau.  Cody is a past Director and Treasurer for the Long Point Country Chamber of Commerce.

 

As a former Provincial Wrestling Champion and National Silver Medalist, Cody is our built in security system. He spends his precious "off time" with his dog Molly, mountain biking and lifting weights.


 

 Sheri Zerbes

 

  

 

Sheri joined Northshore in the summer 2016. She is the friendly face and voice you are greeted with.  

 

After spending most of her entire career with large corporations, Sheri was ready for a complete switch.  Now driving only five minutes to work, Sheri brings her many years of administrative experience and customer service skills to Northshore.

 

Sheri's responsible for the front office, client information and keeping all the staff on track.  

 

She loves living and working in Norfolk, and she looks forward to helping direct you to the right person in the Northshore organization.
